Writing Prompt: A Call For Manners

In a time when “plz” passes for “please” and “thx” for “thank you,” it’s no wonder that people’s use of manners and etiquette has become, well, abbreviated.

But some things are worth holding on to. (No passing gas at the kitchen table is one off the top of my head, thankyouverymuch.) So I ask, what piece of etiquette will you never forsake? And from where or whom did you learn it?

This could be a tribute to Grandma. A social commentary. A plea for reform. It’s up to you.

We all look forward to reading your work. Simply, e-mail: editor@hopscotchforwomen.com. The deadline is up to you.

Kiehl's Lip Balm #1

Kiehl's Lip Balm #1 celebrates 40 years.

We all get chapped lips this time of year. So, there is nothing better than when you find a lip balm that’s transparent, non-sticky, easy to use, and actually works. We’re always searching for this elusive cure-all, but can never seem to find one that has all those characteristics. Well, search no more.

Kiehl’s Lip Balm #1 is the perfect chapped-lip remedy. It’s easy to put on. It stays on. It has no taste. No coloration. It’s simply clear, well-working, and fabulous.

Not to mention, it’s not tested on animals and has sunscreen for your days in the park. And for those of you who like flavor and color, this balm comes in an array of options, too.

Find it priced between $7.00 and $8.00 at Kiehl’s or a major department store.

Note from the editor: This product was bought with my own hard-earned money. It wasn’t a freebee that I was asked to try or review.
